Description: Experience nature at its best when you stay in this spacious, new log home on Lake Michigan in the Upper Peninsula. Crisp linens and soft towels, comfy furniture and beautiful views make Shining Shores Cottage an absolute dream vacation home. Snuggle up in front of the gas log fireplace and smile over peaceful days ahead. Roast marshmallows at the fire pit under the stars and marvel at the mighty Lake Michigan.
The home sleeps eleven in a first floor queen bedroom, second story master bedroom with ensuite bath, lower level full/twin bunk bedroom, and a futon sleeper and two twin mattresses in the lower level rec room.
The home has wood floors and tongue-in-groove paneling throughout, a wrap-around deck and walk-out finished lower level.
You'll love the "away from it all" feeling you'll get as you travel down county-groomed gravel roads and a good old-fashioned dirt road to reach this very special destination.
Sandy beaches are within 10-20 minutes.
Amenities: Everything you need to call Shining Shores home is included in your stay. Linens, dishes, DVD/VCR, AM/FM/CD Stereo, microwave, telephone (local calls only, use calling card for long distance), stove, refrigerator, and coffee maker are all on-site. Also provided are a washer/dryer, an outdoor grill and patio furniture, and a campfire pit.
Activities: Shining Shores is a short drive to sandy beaches. Or, swim on the premises with wet shoes and floaties. Close to Fayette State Park, Kitch-iti-kipi, and Kewadin Casino in Manistique. About an hour or so away, you'll find Tahquamenon Falls and Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore. Mackinaw Island is about a two-hour drive.
Area: You won't want to miss out on local fish frys any night of the week at Tylene's, D&J's, or Sidetracks restaurants, all within 15-30 minutes. Or, arrange a charter on Big Bay de Noc and fry fish you caught yourself!
