The River house is a WONDERFUL riverfront bungalow situated on several wooded acres at the end of a long dirt road. The house faces west looking out over the St. Johns river and was built with plenty of glass to take in the beautiful river views and sunsets. It is approximately 1200 square feet with an open floor plan, tile floors, floor to ceiling glass windows, light bright and airy. River views from almost every room. Enjoy the river breezes, on the 10'x20' screened porch or on the 10'x30' riverfront patio. Lounge by the pool in sun or shade. Enjoy 200 year old century oaks with the spanish moss wafting in the breeze and beautiful palm trees surrounding the house.
The house has a """"""""galley style"""""""" kitchen with dishwasher, side by side refrigerator, ice maker, European cook top, microwave and all the necessities. There are three generous sized bedrooms. Two bedrooms have queen sized beds and the third, our """"""""sleeping porch,"""""""" has a day bed with a twin trundle. Windows wrap three sides of the sleeping porch and give views of the river and outdoors, it's one of our favorite place to relax! River views from every room in the house. Large yard for the kids and/or pets to run and play.
Take a dip in the pool or a nap in the hammock, there is something here for everyone! The palm trees and moss covered century oaks surrounding the house create a setting that nature lovers can really appreciate. This is not condo living, it is Old Florida at it's best! The River House is a perfect get-away, family vacation spot or for special occasions. THIS IS NOT A SPRING BREAK PARTY HOUSE, so if that is what you are looking for please look elsewhere. If you want to come back from your vacation refreshed and renewed this is the place!
Enjoy fishing, crabbing, sunbathing or just watching the boats go by from the 200 ft. dock. A canoe is at the end of the dock in an easy to launch position. It's a lot of fun to view nature up close and has paddles and life vests for 4. You might see a manatee or two. They are a common sight here in warm months. Otters have recently taken up residence on the riverbank and can be spotted swimming and catching blue crabs. Large water turtles sun themselves on the low dock in the mornings and egrets and herons too. Many species of birds can be seen, even the occasional bald eagle.
The dock is also a good place for stargazing if it's a clear night. During 4th of July it's fun to watch the fireworks along the river.
The River House is centrally located 30 minutes between Jacksonville and St. Augustine with shopping and restaurants only 10 minutes away. Numerous golf courses and World Golf Village nearby. Antique shopping, outlet malls, dog racing, horseback riding, movies, and historic St. Augustine are all less than 30 minutes drive. Ocean Beaches are 30 minutes east with I-95 about halfway. The house is in a very nice area, secluded in the woods but close to everything. Small well-behaved pets are allowed with a non-refundable $50.00 per pet fee. No smoking except outdoors. The house sleeps 6 comfortably. If you enjoy the outdoors and nature in a peaceful setting this is it. No glitz, just great casual Florida living.

*Check in time is 4pm Sat.and check out time is 11am Sat. next.
*Primary renter must be at least 25 years of age.
*Tentative reservations will be accepted by phone or e-mail but $200.00 damage deposit must be recieved within 10 days of request.
*Balance is due 30 days in advance of stay.
Damage: The Damage deposit of $200 will be returned to you within 2weeks of your stay provided that the house is left in a reasonably clean and orderly condition, no damage to house or contents and that no items are missing. Assessable damages are not limited to the $200 deposit.
