Rent this cottage which sits on a very narrow section of land in Rainbow Bay on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. It is one of the very few properties on the entire island which offers wide open views of the sometimes turbulent Atlantic Ocean from the front porch and the mostly calm turquoise Caribbean Sea from the back porch. No matter where you are inside or out you have gorgeous views of the water and beaches which are within a 5 to 10 minute walk from the Atlantic and the Caribbean.
You can sit on the front porch with your morning coffee and watch the sun rise over the Atlantic, and sit on the back porch in the evening with your island drink and watch the sun set. The cottage sits on a slight hill so the cross breezes keep the cottage cool no matter what time of year. There are ceiling fans in each room, except the kitchen, for those times when you want a bit more air movement. It's wonderful to leave the sliding doors open in the bedrooms at night to catch the soft breeze and be lulled to sleep by the sound of the surf.
It is centrally located on the island so you have easy access to the north and south for exploring, as well as it being only 15 minutes north of Governor's Harbour airport, and 20 minutes from Governor's Harbour, the largest and oldes settlement on the island, where there are lovely shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and even a cinema showing the latest films.
The smoke-free cottage is very cozy with its Indonesian decor and bamboo thatch matting on walls and ceilings. It takes mere minutes to drive to the beautiful Surfer's Beach and the same to walk to the magically disappearing/reappearing Twin Beaches on the Atlantic side, as well as other very nice, nearly totally secluded beaches such as Hidden Beach, Rainbow Beach and Smugglers Beach. It's a short drive to other picture postcard beaches such as Alabaster beach by Coco Di Mama, with great snorkelling and swimming, or Surfer's Beach for great shelling, collecting sea glass or surfing.
There is a very nice full service restaurant close by as well as many take out places with very good food and reasonable prices. You can even have delicous food delivered steaming hot, with abundant portions on real dishes by calling ahead to Theresa's Kitchen. We can give you the website and phone number if you'd like to arrange it before or during your visit to the island or we can set it up for you. Governor's Harbour also has a few full service restaurants that have great food as well as some neat shops to browse in. There are a variety of bakeries nearby where you can get homemade bread, donuts, pastries and pies. Delicious!
There is a queen sized sofa sleeper as well as a full size aero bed in the cottage which sleeps two other adults or children in case you have 5 or 6 people in your group. This cottage also has a laundry room which is fairly rare in rental cottages on the island and enables you to bring less clothes since you can do laundry while there and can take clean clothes home and not have the work of doing laundry after you get home. There are 2 large walk in closets to store all of your things during your visit. An outside shower is great for rinsing the sea water off of dive or snorkelling gear.
We will gladly arrange car rental for you, fishing/snorkeling excursions, and give you any information you will need for your visit. We know that you'll love this island and our lovely home as much as we do!

Vacation Rental Rates
$900/week..3 night minimum..additional charge for more than 4 guests...discounts given for multiple weeks
Full payment required by 30 days prior to arrival date. $30 fee for
bad checks.
Security deposit of $300 will be returned 7-10 days after renting if
all is well.
Bookings cancelled over 60 days prior to arrival date will receive a
full refund.
A 50% refund will be given for cancellations 30 to 60 days prior to
arrival date.
No refund will be given for cancellations less than 30 days prior to
arrival date.
An additional $60 cleaning fee is to be left with the cleaning lady
at departure.
Non US funds will need to be received no later than 60 days prior to
occupancy.
